The Emory WorkLife Resource Center hosted Emory’s annual Summer Camp & Learning Expo and it was a huge success. Over seventy different summer programs participated in the event, including many of Emory’s own athletics, arts, and academic programs. The event was attended by several hundred employees from Emory, CDC, and Children’s Health Care of Atlanta. The goal of the expo was to help parents find quality summer options for their children throughout metro Atlanta. Representatives were on site promoting their summer programs, many offering discounts and give-away's. The WorkLife Resource Center also raffled some fantastic door prizes including a gift certificate for the Four Seasons Hotel and a HD Smart Flat 32 inch Flat Screen TV.
Employee feedback about the expo was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees welcomed the opportunity to ask questions and expand their knowledge about what types of summer programs exist in the area and especially loved the ability to do it right here at Emory. Vendors that participated in the expo were very pleased to be invited and enjoyed the opportunity to meet the employees of Emory and learn about what other types of quality programs exist in and around metropolitan Atlanta. The Center will use the feedback and suggestions from the vendors, as well as the employee feedback to make improvements to the event next year. The WorkLife Resource Center has already been contacted by vendors interested in participating next year!
