Seeking Childcare in the Oxford Campus Area: Learn More!

November, 2017

The Emory WorkLife Resource Center has worked diligently to expand the Emory Child Care Network to help serve all Emory families with attention paid to where employees work, live, and child care cost. Discovery Point Child Development Centers and Peachtree Prep Early Childhood and Afterschool Enrichment Centers are both located in the Conyers and Covington, Ga. area, offering a discount or priority admission to all Emory employees.

Discovery Point Child Development Centers have been providing quality child care for over twenty years. The company has over 40 locations throughout metropolitan Atlanta locations that are corporately and individually owned. Discovery Point offers a Creative Curriculum covering infants through Pre-Kindergarten (including Georgia Lottery Funded Pre-K), as well as before and after-school programs and summer camp. They are somewhat unique in that many of their centers offer part-time and drop-in care, a level of care that is relatively difficult to find in Atlanta. Tuition discounts vary by location. Contact your local Discovery Point center for more information.

Peachtree Prep Early Childhood and Afterschool Enrichment has been providing early childhood education in the East Metro area for over 10 years. They offer a strong social and academic program to young children and ongoing professional development of its teachers. Peachtree Prep is proud of the low teacher to student ratios and low turnover of staff.  It utilizes a Creative Curriculum with music and language included. Peachtree Prep often has a waiting list, but will be extending priority admission to faculty, staff, and graduate students of Emory. The early learning center offers programming for infants through Pre-Kindergarten (including Georgia Funded Pre-K), before and after-school programs, and summer camp.

The Emory WorkLife Resource Center does not endorse any particular program in its child care network, however the center does offer child care consultations, workshops and tips to help parents recognize and evaluate quality child care.
