The Clifton School Currently has Preschool Openings for Children Between the Ages of 3-5 years old.

November, 2017

The Clifton School is a NAEYC-Accredited early learning environment rooted in the Emergent Curriculum and supported by G.E.L.D.S. (GA Early Learning and Development Standards), a tool that “support[s] the growth of the whole child, birth to five.” In Emergent Curriculum, both adults and children take initiative and make decisions. This power to impact curriculum decisions and directions means that sometimes curriculum is also negotiated between what interests children and what adults know is necessary for children’s education and development. Ideas for curriculum emerge from responding to the interests, questions, and concerns generated within a particular environment, by a particular group of people, at a particular time (Cassady, 1993).

The Clifton School provides care exclusively for the children of Emory, CDC, and CHOA employees and full-time Emory students. Preschool-age children (3-5 years of age) of contractors for these institutions are also eligible to enroll. The Clifton School offers two locations: The Clifton School @ Clifton Road, on the CDC Campus and The Clifton School @ Clairmont, on Emory’s Clairmont Campus. A convenient weekly tuition includes meals (breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack), weekly extracurricular activities, engaging materials, and a warm, enriching environment in a state of the art facility for your child to explore and grow. Hours of operation: 7AM – 6:30PM.

The Clifton School is unique in that it is a non-profit and not attached to a corporate chain of schools. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is very involved and hosts a fun and amazing fund-raising event each year. The Clifton Schools Early Intervention Program connects families to resources to better support their children. The teachers receive advanced professional development on the current research in early education.
