Today, we are all challenged with finding ways to manage our personal and work lives. Boundaries are often blurred and we face decisions about where, when and how to accomplish our To Do list.

The Emory WorkLife Resource Center provides faculty, staff and graduate students with programs and resources to help manage this often overwhelming challenge. Below are some resources we found on the web that may be useful to you:

Environmental

Earth 911

Earth 911 is your one-stop shop for all you need to know about reducing your impact, reusing what you have and recycling your trash. Get involved in our world by checking in for daily news, reading weekly feature stories, surfing product channels and opting into their weekly emails.

Earth Hour

Earth Hour is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community. A call to stand up, to take responsibility and to get involved in working towards a sustainable future. The annual event is last Saturday in March; create your own event each month.

Best Buy Greener Together Program

This Program is an "In Store" solution for customers to bring their old/unwanted(no matter where they were purchased) consumer electronics for recycling. Best Buy accepts most consumer electronics. They also accept accessories such as keyboards, mice, remotes, etc.

Freecycle

The purpose of Freecycle is to reduce waste and keep things out of landfills. The Freecycleâ„¢ Network is open to all who want to recycle items rather than throw them away. Their mission is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources and eases the burden on our landfills.

Dekalb Farmers Market

The South end of their parking lot hosts a self-serve recycling center which is located at the front of the market grounds. Help the environment. Please Recycle!

Home Depot Recycles

Home Depot recycles compact fluorescent lights, batteries and Christmas trees.

Keep DeKalb Beautiful

The Keep DeKalb Beautiful program supports recycling in DeKalb County with Curbside Recycling, Electronics Recycling, Mobile Phone Recycling and more. View their Upcoming Events calendar for ways to get involved.

Georgia Clean Air Campaign

The Clean Air Campaign is a not-for-profit organization that works with its partners, Georgia employers, commuters and schools to encourage actions that result in reduced traffic congestion and improved air quality.

Emory Transportation Services

Emory University has been named as a Best Workplace for Commuters by the US Environmental Protection Agency. A variety of alternative transportation options are available through Emory Transportation Services.
